beber algo siempre

¿Agradecimientos o alguna cosa a añadir?

Hi, first of all introduce yourself (name, where yor from, sponsors, …)

Avichai Wechsler,

I’m from Tel-Aviv, Israel

In the middle of transferring to a new boot company sponsor,

Grindhouse skateshop pro team rider www.grindhouse.eu

Undercover Int. Pro Team

Denial Clothing flow

You’re skating for denial how does you arrange to skate for them?

Killgore, the owner of Denial, was in Amsterdam in 2006 during the IMYTA+ and he saw me skating, I was skating really

well that day and he gave me a denial shirt, then we kept talking after that and I sent him some edit for Denial and he really liked it so he kept supporting me more and more… he ended up sending me to Hoedown in 2008 where I placed 3rd after Sizemore and Aragon !

I remember you when you didn’t have any sponsors at this time Sascha from berlin helped you a lot and bring you into the Grindhouse team if i remember fine how is your relationship with Sascha today and please tell us about the time when everything start with the sponsors?

This goes back to Feburary 2006, my first time to go outside of Israel completely by myself…

I had to fly to Germany for the Winterclash contest, Ricardo Lino has previously told me about this contest and

said I must go and check it out…

So I knew Sascha Krautz through Be-Mag, I asked him to help me with transportation to Muhlhausen and he did that! Thanks man!

We still keep in touch and I chilled with him in Berlin when I was there this year for Winterclash once more! Sascha is a really cool dude and is super nice and down to earth.

Tell us a bit about skating in israel, you’ve got problems with the cops like in Spain?

In Israel we almost never have problems with the cops, definitely not like in Barcelona where they almost confiscated my skates after skating some spots!

At any time does the political situation in your country handicap you in any aspect?

Well, not in a major way…. sometimes when I ride the bus I look around to make sure there is nobody suspicious on the bus…

And basically just the way people precipice what it means to be an Israeli person sometimes causes some wrong thoughts and negative impressions, but I’m always happy to meet people for the first time and after meeting me they get to realize people from Israel are mad chill and it’s not anything like you see on TV.

I saw a lot of edits from really cool skateparks, are they’re good ones in Israel ?

We have a few nice skateparks in Israel yeah! and we just got 3 new skateparks built! Israel is definitely having some serious momentum building up right now as far as society acknowledging what skating is!

This time at the Winterclash i saw a lot of Israelis are there a lot of bladers over there?

Not really man, I’m usually at the park skating either by myself or with some local park kids who only come to the park to meet up with each other,

All the people who really cared for skating are now occupied with other stuff…. it was only like 5-6 people anyways but still… it sucks not having someone who is good that you can skate with and progress with. When you don’t skate with people who skate good your level will eventually decrease because there is no one to push you and everybody give you too much props after every little trick you do.

Any plans to come back to Spain again?

Fuck yeah dude, Barcelona is a must for me… I miss that city too much.. I’ll be back soon… definitely if there is some dope street contest going down in Madrid or Barca.. I’ll be over there to kill shit !

We saw you at so many comps all over the world like Winterclash or Hoedown how you arrange it to do it to so many comps?

I have a bunch of friends all over the world so I’m good with a place to stay, as far as the money for the flights, my sponsors help me a lot with that, and I pay them back by going to these contests and placing top 5, I also work a bit here in Israel so I got my own money too!

Tell us about your vision of our industry it’s going good or not?

Yeah I like where skating is right now and where it is facing, the WRS seemed to have really made skating more organized, and we have a lot of new skaters who we didn’t hear a thing about 5 years ago who are now killing shit! it’s fun to see them shredding’.

What plans you’ve got for the future? Any profile in the oven? Any promodel ?

I’m skating now, planning to go to a lot of big contests this year, just got back from the Chaz Invite and the FISE, was nice!

I’m always filming and getting some clips for my sponsors, I’m stacking up clips for whatever video comes my way.

A few people have asked me to have a section in their video but I’m kind of waiting for a bigger project… something that everyone will see once it’s out.

What you’re thinking about the WRS?

It’s cool, very organized, I’m happy to have an organization that is only about aggressive skating, the thing we love the most. it’s exciting for me to see so many people who are enthusiastic about skating as I am !

You’ve got any hobbies beside the rollerblading?

Yeah I like working out a bit it’s fun, hitting up the beach with my homies, chilling with my girlfriend, rock climbing with my brother, playing ping pong, playing basketball, hitting up a few good bars for a drink is a good idea!

Shootouts?

shout outs to all my homies I skate with and people I love and who love me too! keep rolling and loving !
